‘Physics’ is as indefinable as ‘mass’, ‘energy’ or ‘charge’ that we talk about most frequently in the very same ‘subject’. But I believe, until and unless we don’t understand the indefinability of this particular word, so termed as a subject, we can gain nothing from or about it. ‘Physics’ is the most ‘powerful’ word I’ve ever heard, that comes with an explicit beauty. Real physics is ‘physics’ and should not be interpreted with any other means, not even through its language, i.e. ‘Mathematics’, respecting the idea that it has got its own incomparable beauty which is completely incongruous to the beauty of the ‘subject’ that I am talking about.

One of the most colorful personalities in the planet of physics, Richard Phillips Feynman, has highlighted the concept of ‘Theoretical’ physicists as ‘True’ physicists. I agree with him and so should you as well! Experimental physicists, I think, are ‘Hybrid’ physicists who use mathematics to complete their job. Well, despite infinitesimal difference, both of them are incomplete without each other. Theories are never theories without experiments and experiments are never conducted without any theories.

Well, to talk about the status of physics in Nepal, I don’t really think 9 out of 10 ‘physicists’, or whatever they call themselves, do know what actually physics is. In fact it is not their ‘fault’, but it’s the filthy atmosphere responsible for my criticism over them. Believe me or not, our society laughs at ‘real’ physicists! It is almost impossible for ‘true’ physics lovers to establish themselves in our country, where, the thing that counts is the UGLY marks scored in hoary fashion. The syllabus of 3 years that we finish in 1 year leaves us with no time to ‘think’, which is dominating reason behind ‘lack of creation’. Students, who seem to be ‘good’, are forced inside the world of fractions (marks) and the ones who do not score marks are tortured, though not physically, and practically discarded. So, there arises no question of being a theoretical physicist, because they are nether respected nor paid. Then, why should ‘they’ be emotionally blackmailed to stay in this country? If you can not make it, do not fake it. If society does not know how to respect them, do not stop them from searching respect, somewhere else. Only doctors cannot shake a nation, not even fractions of an inch. This nation needs physicists.

I am always moved by the strategy of the developed nations, where they have immense respect towards the very subject and people engaged with it. Mark my words, ‘hard’ development, is possible through and only through physics. Whatever subject you may read, physics is involved in it and is the only thing that beautifies it or modernizes it. In fact, ‘every’ subject is impossible without physics! So, why are they disrespected practically? Why are they paid less? Why should they leave their motherland? Nobody tries to know or dares to care.
